This is John's 1969 Dodge Charger. The category "Modified" was invented for a car like this! The rear axle was shortened in our shop jig. The wheel tubs were added for large clearance. New bracing was added to strengthen the entire frame. A 1/2" Stainless steel fuel and 3/8" return fuel line replaced the factory line. The battery was moved to the trunk and a heavy duty aviation grade cable was added. A Classic auto A/C system was installed along with the newest March Pulley set that uses a single serpentine belt. The A/C and heater hoses were ran in the inner front fender to keep them out of the engine bay. A Hydra Boost unit was installed in place of the vacuum brake unit. We bent custom brake lines for the brakes. For the interior, a custom "in house" aluminum dash was custom fabricated. Auto Meter gauges were installed. Custom seat brackets were made to accommodate the BMW bucket seats. The MSD ignition unit and A/C dryer were tucked up under the dash core.

Here's a photo of the completed engine compartment. Looks like something is missing, but it's not. We moved the battery into the trunk, the heater and A/C lines were installed in the inner right fender, The A/C dryer was installed under the dash along with the starter relay and MSD unit. The engine wiring harness was ran under the manifold and the front light harness was ran in the inner left fender. This makes for a very clean custom look under the hood.

For the 2007 Spring Fling we wanted to get John's car done it time to make the show. We did it! 48 hours straight, but we did it. The car came out beautiful! When this car gets out in the sunlight it just seems to glow. This project has been a 3 year adventure for John. Has put a large amount of time and thought into this car. When he and John Hopper here at the shop got together, they created one of the nicest modified B bodies out there. The judges at Spring Fling agreed. John took third place against some very tough competition. He was up against cars that cost double or triple what went into this car. He beat out some very nice cars including a high dollar HEMI B Body. Congratulations to both owner John, and John Hopper for there incredible work on this car.
